How We Help Our Clients

Crack Treatment

Crack Treatment

Swimming pools can develop cracks in the concrete that lies beneath the plaster finish, due to settling, ground shifting or erosion. One of our most frequently requested services is our proprietary crack treatment. Cracked pools are a huge source of concern, and a serious source of water loss. Through decades of R&D we have developed a successful and proven method for the treatment of underwater cracks.

Pop Offs

Pop Offs

Delamination is the separation of layers that are supposed to be bound together in the swimming pool. Broken plaster or 'pop offs' are a result of plaster delamination. Cavities or voids form beneath a pool's plaster surface as the top plaster layer separates from the layer beneath. Eventually, the delaminated areas break, leaving holes in the pools floor – which can have dangerously sharp edges. Scuba Pool Repair has techniques for repairing 'pop offs' underwater which perfectly matches the existing plaster, using Pebble Tec, or Hydrazo finish.

Fiberglass Treatment

Fiberglass Treatment

Like all plaster pool needs, Scuba Pool Repair has specialized techniques for making repairs to fiberglass swimming pools. If your fiberglass pool has broken spots or cracks, our dive team will make all the needed repairs underwater. Traditional methods require the draining of your pool. Our methods save you that hassle, and that water!

Rusted Rebar

Inside the concrete shell of a swimming pool are hundreds of steel support bars, called rebar. The embedded steel rebar is protected by a passive oxide layer which is maintained by high alkalinity at the surface of the steel. Under certain conditions the natural passivation protection of the steel breaks down, in the presence of chloride ions, moisture, and oxygen, corrosion then occurs.

This corrosive process exerts a great expansive pressure within the concrete, leading to cracking, rust staining, and spalling over the corroded reinforcement. Left untreated, rusting rebar will degrade the pool structure resulting in further water intrusion and a weakening of your pool shell. The corrosion will continue until the affected steel is removed.

Underwater Painting

Underwater Painting

Many pools feature lines on the bottoms in the center of each swim lane. These lines act as guides to help athletes stay straight while swimming. Over time, due to chemical interaction, the lane line colors fade away. Our dive team has developed methods for painting underwater.
In commercial pools it is the law to have a clear demarcation at the area where the pool changes depths; from shallow to deep. This is commonly called a “Belly Band”. Belly Bands can be can be added underwater. You can be compliant with no water loss and no down time.

Main Drains

& Main Drain Covers

Main Drains are a critical part of the sanitation function of the swimming pool. However, they can also be very dangerous. Via the Virginia Graeme (VGB) Pool and Spa Safety Act, it is required by law that all public pools must have a legal VGB cover for a pool or spa’s main drain. In addition, we advise that all pool and spa owners use a VGA cover for safety against entrapment and drowning.

Scuba Pool Repair helps you avoid this silent danger through the replacement of main drain covers and frames. We are referred by County Health Inspectors for this service throughout the State of California.
